Did this same Staffordshire factory supply the tiles for Lenterns butchers in Penzance?

That, I need to check, it has the same appearance, from addled memory. I also need to check dates ... I know that I had already worked out Lenterns , somewhere. I think that I placed it here on site.

Hmm - first answer is a direct no - not connected. Nr 1 Chapel Street; 1800 Phillpotts - Confectioner; 1841 Alexander Hampton - Confectioner; 1870 Faull - Confectioner; 1879 Brighton - Butcher; 1920 or so Alterations to front - Boaden - Butcher; by 1939 Harveys - Butcher. The photographs of the property for Brighton and later Boaden do not show the tiles seen now. The tiles are after Boadens handed over to Harveys c 1930.

Thank you treeve. By coincidence I looked at and admired the tiles at Lenterns Monday gone. I also took in the facia boards at what was Meeks the furnishers. These really ought to be preserved and not ripped down. cast aside or hidden behind a bit of plastic advertising whatever should go there next. It might not appeal to most but they are an important piece of Penzance history.

To be honest, I have seen so much in Hayle that has been preserved and looked after, so much better that in Penzance. The people of Hayle seem to be better aware and equipped to handle their great heritage. Meanwhile, we have an authority that does not give a damn about their harbour pier, Market Jew Street, clean streets, clear pavements, or anything else .....
