Penpol Terrace, Hayle

The Railway runs along the area now developed as gardens.
This picture seems to be taken near the present zebra crossing.
Confirmation, the line was used as a shunting siding for railtrucks up until c1963.

The buildings on the right were William Thomas Blewett in 1914, Chemists. It seems that the large building was a large Lodging House, that is if it is Nr 12 Penpol Terrace (or rather at that time) run by the Ball family.

This does show the single storey shop of Blewett s - it still exists (last time I remember, it was a florist; now closed), the large building still exists, though it now has a lot of glazing to the road face; the long white wall has been removed and the area is a parking space for the newsagents and Thai Restaurant (it has a good reputation).
