No, I meant symons55 not you, Treeve! laugh# Well, actually, it was the white collar that did it, Treeve. In all seriousness, can hardly imagine symons as a vicar - as a Buddha, perhaps yes!
Please explain! By the way, it was good to meet up with you, Charlie Downing, again! I very much hope you will scan and upload a few blasts from the past yourself!
You should read Herman Hesse s book on him; an experience in itself - I rate this on the same level as The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Life changing books.
Not quite the same sort of read but may I suggest to you, and anyone else, that you try The Shack by Wm Paul Young. This, IMHO, wonderful book is an odd one out among the current list of bestsellers. I believe it is no.40 and all the more amazing for its being a modern equivalent of Bunyan s Pilgrim s Progress . It was a best seller in New York, having initially been turned down by all the publishers so that it was published by a group of his friends instead. They haven t regretted it. It was written by a man who has himself gone through the spiritual mill, so to speak. I would ask you to really make an effort to read this bool and see why I am so enthused. It really moved me. I find it hard to get down to reading anything nowadays but this novel was extremely poignant in its effect.
