Boats and blue sea and the old green area and bench where the statue and new defences are now. Shame the grass had to go. And the bench come to think of it. I ate many a Jelberts on that bench! Tolcarne, Newlyn, May 2007
That was what the seat was there for!! But new seats are on the way, on the centre section. I congratulate them on their works to the grass banks and so on; I sincerely hope that they will not become a playground for skateboards and so on, mountain bikers et al.
I was right about the wonderful grass banks ... cyclists, dogs, children, mountain bikers, et al, wearing down already. And the disabled car park being used by able and fit, preventing the diadvantaged from enjoying their rights. Their rights? Jelbert s Ice Cream and the sea.
Did you really expect a plan? The sculpture is brilliant ... one of the best I have ever seen, puts me in mind of Rodin and other amazingly observant and expressive artists. Poignant and dramatic.
