June/July/August are notoriously wet, the thing it is more concentrated; exceptionally we do get decent summers (as I remember from childhood) but that is the result of coincidence of cycles. UK Temperature is rising, but no higher than in 1740s when we had a similar rise, it then dropped dramatically. Annual average rainfall is fluctuating, but it was far worse in 1880s when we had the worst storms and rainfall reached a peak average of 1000mm (actual 1300mm);
Summer rainfall has dropped from a peak average of 300mm to the present 200mm. Air would become rather stuffy without a bluster now and then, and rain to clear the air, literally.
