Wycliffe's associate was played by an acting genius, Jimmy Yewell.

He wasn't in the pilot, and the lady sidekick seen in the shop doorway was played by a different actress in the series.

The caste for the pilot episode of Wycliffe included Penzance born David Shaw who was outstanding in the supporting role of Inspector Miller.

This picture reminds me of Hancock and The Missing Page ...
