I think this is shameful, relatives will want to come here for peace and solitude, not to be overlooked by that monstrosity, let alone anyone who wants to visit now while it s a building site. :-x

Precisely why I consider that building to be so very wrong. The fact that it is a piece of mediocre design which would fit into any urban sprawl, and looks exactly like St Austell Station, is of minor importance when set against the siting next to a cemetery and on the highest outline of ground in Penzance.

To read the self-promotional gumf in connection with the college and these two buildings, you d be forgiven for getting the impression that a Cornish Taj Mahal had been constructed.

They seem to build what they like, where they like, Cherry. You can protest if you like, but the mandarins are able to dismiss it as hot air .

'Sensitivity', 'understanding', 'vernacular', 'respect' are words not included in the average bureaucrat's vocabulary. Just look around and see our past disappear into the great oblivion of crass destruction. We get told by the 'man in charge' to give it few years and people will get used to it and forget what all the fuss was about. What a fool's paradise it must be to not care about anything and not have the spark of humanity or knowledge of what matters.
