I recognise the stage and the floor but nothing else in this picture. We used to have the balcony and the windows into two rooms, C and D rooms was it? Looks quite different from how I left it in 1972.
What happened with the glorious long balcony, from whence T Craske Rising would bellow in stentorian tones to some pupil running across the hall? The collection of library books were in bookshelves under the windows, from my memory. But that was before 1957.
Good grief! Did they only leave the stage because they couldn't move it?! Sterile and uninspiring. Denanmor's link is how I remember this - and I think I'll keep that memory.
I'm quite overwhelmed. I've just realised I took this 22 years ago. Cripes. Anyway, the room may look a little different these days, but still nothing like it was in my father's, or indeed Grandfather's day.
