I know what you mean Treeve, happens to me almost every time. Do you want ice? No Brandy is best served at room temp just warmed by the hand, oh no, I can t do that as you haven t given me a brandy glass. Thanks for the service, don t keep the change... sad#
The only thing to put with a brandy (and not a sipping brandy at that) is Lovage. I am from a long line of proper glasses drinkers. Heaven knows where they keep proper glasses; anything will do in a pub for the barman if it holds liquid. Complete with a slice of lemon especially if I did not ask for it.
At what age do people discover a prediliction for a particular spirit? I cannot fathom it at all. What s wrong with tap water or a cup of tea?
Just a passing comment, by the way, don t mean to start a full-on debate.
Nothing wrong with tap water (except it is rather bland), or a cup of tea, or coffee, or hot chocolate, or orange juice, or blackcurrant squash, or beer, or cider, or wine, or whisky or brandy... I could go on. What s wrong with wanting to drink more than one kind of beverage?!
Me, I m a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk .... I know what i like .... Thank you Genesis, you have got the job ....
As a young architectural student, I became a whisky drinker, but soon realised that I was on 6 doubles and not a sign of being drunk; my tastes then went to drinks that actually felt warm and did something nice ; I never have been able to take beer in any form, just the smell is enough, neither do I like being drunk - all the fun and taste is gone (sometimes literally). I started when I was 18. And I still like my coffee, and tea occasionally. Fruit juices, squashes, .... water is part of the intake, especially on hot sunny days. The whole magic of it is that we are all different, with differing choices.
Well today I find nothing more satisfying than a good cup of PG tips the days of wasteful spending are long gone, when it
comes to brandy I like a little on my Christmas pud before that yuletide nap......
