DIY boat.

How to make a boat on a budget.....
This is a massively powered boat with a history. Not a home made boat by a long chalk. The owner is Steve Palk. The ship is a PTF Nasty. Check it out on the net; I have a page on her on my website as well.

WOW!! ..what an unusual name..PTF Nasty... I don t know a thing about boats.I have to admit..and it probably shows!!..but saying that I have been on many...and this doesn t look that bad....

The upper sheds are to provide a workspace and to protect the upper control room and fittings; I am now uploading some pictures to show more.

The boat just to the left and in front below the big one (Vega) is the Lady Vista and has been in the dry dock, had a big hole cut in the side, engins and dc units taken out and new engins put in, just having trials. 19/6/08

Details on Lady Vista elsewhere on the galleries, with full details on her history etc. Penzance Dry Dock are dealing with quite exacting work. Feasible, as shown elsewhere has the most remarkable history. Malamok is a sound vessel also, from France originally.

I work in the dock about 3 days a week and did a fair bit of work on the Vista, very interesting history, must find it on the other galleries. Thanks.

Can t find the picture so .... LADY VISTA; Registered London.; Luxury Explorer Vessel; Built as a minelayer 1954 for the Swedish Navy; In service until 1999; Then sold and converted by Forth Estuary Engineering Ltd; Range of over 4,000 nautical miles; 2001 Completed; 105ft x 24ft; 244 grt; 13 ft draft; Two Scania DS11 Diesel engines; more pictures to come later.

By the way ... as far as the PTF Nasty is concerned, think of a number between 2 and 5, add six noughts after and a £ sign to the front.

Me again, I disconnected all the electric s on the Scania engines, dc units and rectifiers at Xmas, the new engines were put in about January, the week before last she had the first sea trials and they are also re-fitting the cabins etc. I did have take photo s of the engines etc. being craned out from the side but for the life of me I can t find them, never mind I ll keep looking.
