Were the COVERS owing a great debt of gratitude for being by being given COVER from the waves by this breakwater so that they didn t have to be doing any COVERING themselves? Sorry! Just a silly bit of musing!
I wonder if any other cove communities in the world are known as Covers? A difficult thing to google for of course. But searching for Cove and Cover the first relevant instance I encountered was referring to Sennen Cove. It was an account of the origin of Sennen breakwater on thisiscornwall.co.uk which I think comes from the Cornishman of 23rd July this year. A very moving story. This is the link (...)
