Sorry I forgot one of these was from newlyn.
The title is The Balcony, Newlyn and I have a note saying this was somewhere near the ice works and fish market.
Is this a demolition?
Does anyone know what or when is depicted here.
Yesterday, we visited the exhibition in Penlee House and there were several pictures of this. It is the Navy Inn, Newlyn, also known as The Balcony . It was scat down in 1939 in the first phase of the clearances. Unfortunately, as we were travelling back to North Wales yesterday, we had insufficient time to give the excellent exhibition full justice and little time to read the quantity of material included about this inn. Anyone who knows more. please comment.
The presentation of this print is similar to the oothers in this set so perhaps this could date the set? Again, opinions are welcome.
I was there yesterday too! Didn t have the time to look too closely at all the small print unfortunately, was very busy and I was carrying a wriggling baby
I spent as much time helping my grandchildren with the quiz as I did looking at the exhibits. Well worth a re-visit I d say. Despite spending far longer there than we should have I still felt as though we had skimmed it.
