The conglomerate becomes bigger, less manageable, more distant, less effective, less quality, less choice, less accessible and more expensive. That is the experience in all quarters, whether it be supermarkets, hospitals or authorities. Please can we have our Cornwall back? Please can we have our Britain back. We are not a backwater state of the USA.
The new rules of polls have been implemented for some years now. Ask the public for opinions and choices, and then ignore them and destroy that piece of heritage or go ahead and build the monstrosity on conservation land. It is a matter of legal requirement to ask, but not on which to act upon the public s choice. Rather like the TV gameshows - it is all a money raising activity, one that gives the impression to a gullible public that something will be done for them and one that attempts to show that the opinion offerers are doing their useless job. I used to live in an age when people were accountable and were qualified to do the job, and hype meant nothing.
