Despite the Law, despite the fact that anyone with half a braincell can see the lines, many cases have been dropped after idiotic pleas that the lines were not clear; and so now, the authorities are obliged to keep the lines in better condition than the roads themselves. These pleas are made by drivers of 4WD and the like, as they are finding it hard to afford the cost of living, with parking fees, fuel costs, driving distances that any healthy person could actually walk.
I should mention that the old lines used to be burned off, but costs rose, it took three times as long, and so the new lines are made, ignoring the old lines and the geometric anomolies - it is all to do with the shade of colour, I have been given to understand.
Anyway... for a while to save cost the lines were pale yellow rather than the deep pigment these lines use to have... terrible colour.... never liked it since I saw it on roads
At the bottom of St Ives they don t paint the cobbles but they have to put signs on the walls that they are not allowed to paint the floor... laugh# laugh#
