Bus Lands End

This was sent to my grandfather in 1935 - On looking closely in to it I do not think it is very old - it's on card. John Moody Photographer - Penzance.
I suspect this is taken at Ponsandane, and the coach is for Logan Rock and Lands End? Note the standard for the Gas Lamp; there are a few such pictures, but none like this one have I seen.

Yes the coach says something Rock and Lands End on it - on the back of the photo they offer hearse services - nice

Nothing like looking on the bright side of life .... early diversification.

Are you sure that it doesn t say Town Clock to Lands end. A taxi rank was stationed there as well as the GWR office. Also are you sure this isn t at the bottom of Alexandra Road?

I think that you have hit on something there, now I look closer at the base of the lamp; it does actually look like it is the Alexandra Lamp and water drinking fountain; I can t see how the hills and buildings fit into the 1936 OS map layout yet. But Yes.

That is what I reckoned first off - Logan Rock - it was quite an attraction. The bus journey was an adventure in itself, for one thing they carried more passengers than today s!!
