Empire Day In Penzance

I must be too young to remember this.....when was the last Empire day?...

First one was in 1901, first general one in Britain was 1916. It became Commonwealth Day in 1958 - 24th May was the yearly celebration of Britishness, now hidden under the PC carpet unfortunately.
