Thank you both! Nice little haven for wild life there, saw a number of different bird species plus a squirrel. Oh, and a black cat too - another one to add to my cat gallery when I have a mo.
A couple of days ago - June 16th, . One thing I've found with robins is that they will 'stand their ground' - as long as you don't push it, and remain still - they seem to like to 'eyeball' you, unlike most other small or medium sized birds who prefer to not to hang around. There's been a number of occasions I've been out and seen a robin and they would have made fantastic pictures, We stand and look at each other but as soon as I move and bring my camera up, they fly off. I was lucky with this one - he let me take the pic before flying away. Quite often when my brother and I were working on our mother's garden, a robin would turn up, sit on the fence watching us and then swoop down if any worms were uncovered. Lovely little birds. Glad you like the photo!
Just an incidental for you, Tabtab! I saw this in a Spanish town up a pine tree two weeks ago during a mini-trip and was very grateful for my new camera and its superior zoom. Know what it is? It's a first for me but I'm pretty sure it's a yellow finch called a serin and can be seen in this country too.
