Long Rock for Supper - 1st September

What a fantastic variety of geological specimens (some of them semi-precious) one may gather on the beach between Eastern Green and Marazion: quartz, chert, agate, chalcedony, gabbro, granite, serpentine, bloodstone, moonstone, slates and even topaz and amethyst if you're lucky. I recall reading that there are few places where one can find such diversity of stones and pebbles.
This reminds me of my collection of specimens, which I have collected over the years. All identified, rose quartz etc, galenium etc. I must get the collection out eventually. ;)

I used to have a stone-polishing kit (a birthday present) but it took too much preparation and cleaning and sometimes failed miserably to keep going or to polish, and sometimes even overdid it by pulverising the stone. I was certainly no expert lapidarist (I'm just showing off - it means 'stone polisher'!).

Hey! I don't suppose I shall be prosecuted for stealing a few pebbles from the beach? You remember how there was an uproar when folk began to steal big, round boulders from the Cot Valley!
