Seeing this inspired me to have a go at a sponge, first one not too good, (overmixed i'm guessing) second one came out a treat, I whipped up some double cream for the filling as well as the jam, went down well with everyone
I'm sure there were other comments on this - from treeve, BOP (I think) and me. Unless you have another sponge pic on the site somewhere - and that's where those comments are?
