Candy Striped Leafhopper

This little creature is no more than 3-4mm in length, found on Rhododendron, despite the bright colours, unless you're looking very very closely it's very easily missed.
can honestly say that I have never seen anything quite like this at all? are those its black eyes? if so they look quite unusually big, if you say this creature is that tiny...GREAT PIC!! love it
 
Sorry that should haver read, from 3-4mm up to 10mm in length, it's length is roughly half the width of a 5p peice.
 
so about the size of a thumb nail? actually no thats too big...i think i have seen something similar but they are just green all one colour and not having the bright colours on top...and they do hop/jump
 
yes, they hop, jump, fly, they just look very small and pale when flying around, if you saw one, you wouldn't expect it to look like that when you get in close, but as I say, they are so small they are very easily overlooked.
 
dont think we are speaking about the same creatures then...but interesting that you have captured them so well!! thus being so small....well done!
