WH Smith, in town for 63 years, reopened in their new shop in 1980, at which point the Granary,

became Parkers, after the fire in their previous store.

The date is correct, I am positive, written by my Uncle Bert Pascoe on that picture, :) Scan of text added.
 
? must admit I always remember Parkers being there until whats there now.... never knew that whsmiths was even here?
 
History, like their pictures are rather hazy, as far as The Cornishman is concerned. :)
