Olympic Torch

This is Ryan getting a close up with the Olympic Torch in Marazion.

There is currently one of these torches for sale on Ebay, a the time of me posting this, it was up to £110,600

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/London-2012-Olympic-Torch-/270981379377?pt=UK_Sports_Memorabilia_ET&hash=item3f17bfb531

It's advertised as a genuine torch, which there is no reason to beleive it isn't, but it says it's been used in the Olympic torch relay, it went up for auction today, but the torch is in Wales??
On eBay already?! A sad sign of the times really, where everything is judged on its financial worth and not for what it means or stands for.

Yes tabtab you're not wrong, the people picked to run with the torch, were honoured, just shows you what some of them think about it, another one for sale in St Austell too, there are at LEAST, 8000 of the torches made, so it's not exactly going to be a rarity!

Just had a quick scan on ebay, I found 14 torches for sale, then i stopped looking!!!

I was going to ask the question was there only ONE torch...think I have found my answer. yes heard there were torches on sale on Ebay and going for a silly price and its lovely to see the children having their pics taken with the torch a brilliant idea. Did anyone actually see David Beckham by the way?

I don't know the exact price Sparky, but the torches are available for the participants to buy, in the region of £250 each, obviously they become their property then if they buy them, just seems like a honour which was bestowed on them, has turned out to be a money making opportunity!!! I can only agree with Tabtab13 again, SAD!!! Did anyone actually see David Beckam?, as the bus went by, he was waving and calling my name, i just pretended i hadn't seen him! :)
