Shame about the "fungus"....now hopefully they will de-stump it and replace it with another tree for other generations to enjoy

A leaf fell on a toddler PP.....................got to be careful now with Elm and Safety:)

It is a shame something this old has gone; my children, myself, my parents, my grandparents and my great grandparents have all been past this tree at one time or another. However trees aren't immortal. Everything will die in the end. And this tree had a deadly fungus that made it liable to blow down in a gale, damaging buildings and possibly killing or injuring people. I bet if that happened people would be complaining that it hadn't been cut down when it was found to have had this fungus! http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Dea...e-beech-tree/story-17265757-detail/story.html
