Cudden Point

Five Miles from Paul, across the beautiful calm waters of Mount's Bay, is Cudden Point.
Cudden Point is but one of the more observable dangers for shipping in Mount's Bay; despite the bay's beauty and certain degree of shelter, when the winds are from the South West and in particular the South East, then this is one of the most dangerous traps along this coast. The Lizard herself has claimed many ships and many lives, including many animals, as the ships seek passage past the Lizard, often in fog, with high seas and driving winds, the push to reach the safety of Falmouth is snatched from the occupants of that craft as it fights its way through the unknown. If they are lucky, ships get driven into Mount's Bay, but they are confronted with rocks, many submerged, and claws thrust out into the sea, such as Cudden Point. If by any chance they happened to force their way towards harbour, there were still rocks, such as Battery or Gear. Safe routes were from the East, but run the risk of being driven on The Cressars or at Chyandour. Many ships collided either with the pier or other ships as they tried to gain safer waters. Cudden Point is surrounded by ships and lost souls - Yewcroft, Ponthieu, Sylphide, GI Jones, Spagna, Rival, Glendale.
