I must admit i'd never heard of the Kinlet or Kinglet before, so i looked it up, widespread throughout Canada and the US down to Central America, quite happy around humans apparently, allowing itself to be stroked and even picked up. Well done your daughter!

Sorry i wasn't correcting you, you can google Golden Crowned Kinlet or Kinglet, and both will appear, i just thought it was known by either!

To tell the truth, I thought it was a goldcrest or a firecrest but I see on checking, the tail is very slightly different.
