Approaching Lamorna Cove. O.J.Padel says that in 1302 this place was referred to as 'Port of Nansmorno', in 1319 as 'Nansmornou' and in 1387 as 'Lamorna alias Nansmorna'. This is most likely Nans (Valley) + unkmown word or name, probably a stream-name 'Mornow'. There is a Welsh one to compare with in in Monmouthshire: 'Murn', and also a Breton saint called 'Moren'. Note how 'Nans' changed to 'La' and '-ou/-ow' to '-a'.
