The third Market House, built in 1867 by the Harvey Company and others; it was considerably higher then; it looked three stories but it was a high second story for public meetings and exhibitions; later, film shows were given there, though not specifically a cinema; in 1935 a fire took hold and the devastation was so great that the building was re-roofed to have just the one storey.

Unfortunately the second Market House has now been marred by poor signage, built 1839 it became used by JandF Pool, the metal perforators (I remember well the sumptuous Board Room and Director's Office) and we were commissioned to design various alterations and a canopy over the entrance. The central arch is a magnificent five centred stone arch, much favoured in Cornwall. All of that work has now been undone.
