missp and I have visited all of these places over the last few years. We usually start from Widecombe as all roads seem to lead there, unfortunately the old pottery which had been there for donkey's years had closed down when visited in October 2010.
I had a lovely day out across the River Dart by ferry from the village of Dittisham two Sundays ago when I walked the beautiful grounds of Greenway House, the holiday home (It was a mansion!) of Agatha Christie. I also was driven up to Dartmoor by my son who took me to Belltor, Belleva Forest and the Warren House Inn way out in the wilderness. On the way back to Dittisham ('Ditsam'), we passed Buckland-in-the-Moor. As I roamed the moorland around Watchcroft near the North Penwith coastal road, I was struck by how much it was like a mini-Dartmoor.
