Gry Maritha 1989

Gry Maritha in her original colours 1989.
I refer in the title of this album to
F. McFarland's poem, of 1926.
With the closure of the dry dock (however perhaps temporary)
it adds to the equation regarding her demise, along with that of Scillonian III.
Just where are they to be serviced? How long are we to have a locally owned ferry service?
Newlyn may benefit from this, as they have under their wing a fine engineer
(reported to me as having been headhunted, long before the latest disastrous news as to the dry dock).
I regret that certain questions over any politics that may present themselves as undercurrents
should be considered in the wake of recent proposals concerning the harbour itself and,
what I consider to be, a hijacking attempt of the Island services that have been in operation since 1926.
