Homemade Sponge cake

I used to make these every week, needless to say I have no immediate plans in that direction, lovely bit of sponge cake

It was Treeve, a lovely sponge cake, and Yes Chris, it did taste as good as it looks...not many slices left now!

Years ago, I made a sponge to be submitted to the scrutiny of the local WI, I recieved the accolade of their approval, which did go well for my wife's thoughts of my abilities (her father having been a master baker)
