Built 27th April 1961 by Seebeck Werft, Bremerhaven as Viking Bank BX 682 of Bremerhaven;
sold in 1970 Unterweser Reederei GmbH, Bremen
and sold Elsfleth Werft AG, Elsfleth, becoming Research Ship FS Valdivia.
She passed through other owners from 1973, Partridge and RF Reedereigemeinschaft Research GmbH, Bremen.
In 1982, she became a ship of the University of Hamburg, but still RF Reedereigemeinschaft Research GmbH, Bremen.
On July 19, 1999 sold to Hays Ships Ltd., Nassau, Bahamas.
Renamed Kommander Jack - OSAE Offshore Survey and Engineering Society for Hydrographic mbH, Bremen.
75.295 x 11.02 x 7.3 metres ( 5.25 m Draft);
Main drive through a MAN-G 6 diesel engine with 2,160 hp; 225 rpm; 12 knots.
