For some reason I always thought that Penrose Gardens were constructed after houses there were bombed in the war. Is there any truth to this? I see they were there in 1946 but then they may have been there many years before this! Notice that there are no cars to be seen in this picture. Now driving up Penare Road and Castle Road is an obstacle course.
