Gorse of course: There are three kinds that grow in Penwith: common gorse which flowers all the year round but mainly in April; dwarf gorse that is usually short and prostrate, blooming on moorland from July to November; and western gorse which intermediate between the other two species. I think this one is early common gorse but I may be wrong.
