Mr Trewhella, Willie Warren, Henry Branwell, Dora Branwell, ? Dymond (former licensee at Newbridge) and Essie Waters pictured in the Pendeen Sunday School sports field on midsummer day 1970.

I'm not sure of the ethics of posting pictures of named people on here but I hope pictures of this antiquity will offend no-one.
When noting names, please be aware of the possibility of identity theft; maiden names of mothers, for example are a security question asked by banks, etc.. Do not give whole names (if they had a middle name) etc ... Do not give ages except as imprecise numbers.

I remember a few of those folks, called on Essie on the coop rounds. She used to make bread, in an oven over an oil stove. So I had a cuppa and a piece of her bread, out of politeness. She was a sweet lady who had a tough life. I admired her very much.

Willy was an asset to the parish. He was a lovely chap. I seem to have spent most of my teens in the front room in Willy s playing euchre. That room is pictured on one of Brenda Wootton s album covers (Boy Jan perhaps?) and that picture is exactly as I remember it. We had a record player in there and used to keep a collection of records in the cupboard to play in the evenings. Never drank under-age in there, lemonade only. When we went through from the front room to the hatch to be served Willy would always greet me Hullo boy; how s your Granny? . He used to let us youngsters go along to his own private sitting room on Thursdays to watch TOTP. Willy supported most things going on in Pendeen and was a lovely benevolent man.
