Mesembrianthemum - Trewidden Gardens - June '08

A genus of colourful succulent plants, mostly South African some of which are known as hottentot figs, ice plants or Livingstone daisies, I read. I know the hottentot figs grow on the cliffs around the Lizard and Penberth, for example. This variety is popular in cottage front gardens, like the green succulent to its right.
