People got in a full supply of postcards, just in case; many were kept for years before it was thought the appropriate card to send. Many people collected views and it was a kind gesture to send one that your beloved one did not already have. Some postcards were printed from customers own photographs to send, other people printed their own cards.
Here is Nell writing to Miss M Russell (Marion) at 7 Endesleigh Terrace, Tavistock. Marion's mother was a postmistress and had at one stage worked in premises at Falmouth. Nell writes of her concern that she has been told by her friend Liz that Marion does not have this card already. The card is postmarked
