Murder weapon

Pictured a Colt .45 which at one time was in the local museum in a glass case
in working order it was removed by police, it was used by a person returning from
the Americas and finding his spouse with another shot them both the crime took
place in either Cottage Row or Marine Place I was led to believe it was the former..
Do you have any idea as to date? Times Archive will almost certainly have a report. The Cornishman may have reported it.

Was it the 1886 Hawke murders and suicide? Victims were Mr and Mrs Uren and Mrs Gerrard. Doesn t quite tie in with your description, though.

Interesting date - the Colt 45 Peacemaker was brought into the firing line in 1886.

1871 says the PAT on the enalarged view....not sure if this is when it was made (probably not) was not expecting to see a gun on PP!

I believe it was on display for quite some time until it was seen by a policemen and removed, I took the photograph at the Penzance
library before they took it away...

fascinating....don t suppose you have the name of the policeman who took it away.(longshot) I know.....(and no I wasn t being funny!! as in Longshot)
