Newlyn at Night - 6

The Chippy
Vinegar and gherkins, and hot chips and batter,
fish in your hands, and hot fingers don't matter.
shrimps, pickled eggs, mushy peas and don't forget
the curry/tartare sauce and the can of DandB ... you bet!!
Ah memories, I spent many happy hours in Newlyn, all my mum s family lived there, now only one cousin there.

now just a picture of that place gets my taste buds going - in order to get good fish and chips today I have to travel 40 miles into Canada......but its worth it !!!

Six of chips and a piece of fish, back on the motorbike and park outside the casino and eat them, ah memories.....

Although I was Treneere lad (Trannack Terrace) I played most of the week days in Newlyn. My father a mechanic for Coombe motor and marine. At the tender age of 12 I was driving the cars in the garage for them as they were parked across the road. After School I would hide under the bridge and have a crafty fag and for tea we would have fish cakes and chip s and with the change (thrupenny bit) I would buy a quarter of Bon Bons from the sweet shop next to the barbers. ahh how things have changed.... Bon Bons are so expensive aren t they
