Such an advantage for the harbour to have this slip and winch ... all very well having the outer ledges, but that is just at very low tides, but for serious lengthy work, this is the only way - and those anodes can be fitted .... ::6:
My memories of this pier are as an apprentice trying to repair the lights on the wall in the wet, in pyro, with trains going past. Years later this slipway was built, it meant a lot to Newlyn and has seen a lot of ships.
