Showing the demolition of the old front of Market House (which had already been a bank since 1864) for the re-build to the designs of Frederick Drewitt for Lloyd s Bank.
 
Just don t stand still too long in this town - you will be marked for demolition.
 
My mother used to tell me that certain women of the town earned their living on Timothy Whites and Taylors or Boots Corners. Took me years to figure out what she meant!! But we WERE so much more innocent then (1950 s) laugh# laugh#
 
read# I was told the same story but it was Boot s corner that my mother said. I suppose it makes scene now I know what she was talking about.... I cannot think of a more worthy corner to stand for that occupation.
