Remember Trevelyan well, I used to work at the Old Coastguard Hotel in Mousehole and he used to come in regularly. In fact, was engaged to the head waitress at the hotel but they never married cos of his untimely death with the sinking of the Penlee Lifeboat. A sad day to remember sad# A wonderful character though, and am glad to say I knew him.
Likewise, I used to play in the Coastguard in the early 70 s, can t say I was a friend but knew him, also many members of the Soloman. They will never be forgotten in my memory.
I can still remember so clearly watching the news after the lifeboat was lost. I still get a lump in my throat whenever I pass the old Penlee Lifeboat station.
