Portheras Cove, near Pendeen - The Cornish Caribbean

Well I ve swum there several times in recent years and never found any sharp protruding bits of metal as there used to be. It s a gorgeous cove and relatively unknown and very secluded.

aahh what a lovely picture..missed this one! very picture postcard material... laugh# laugh#

Alacrity was to the west of this shot, shouldn t be much left now, surely?
blondesurfguy, you haven t lived.....

@ blondesurfguy: All you have to do to get there is to go to Pendeen, find the road to Pendeen Lighthouse and then walk eastwards along the cliff until your eyes alight on this treasure. I find it a bit like the Porth Chapel of the North Coast as you have to climb down from above on the cliff beside a stream - not quite as tricky though. It is particularly beautiful on a day like this and a relatively unknown corner of Penwith. Boat Cove is also on the way to it and has a slipway if you bother to go down there. At very low tide it is possible to walk from here around the beach to Portheras but this involves a bit of a way across rocks if I remember it from some time ago. I am glad this pic has been viewed by a few of you and there are others of Portheras in this album as you can see shown as thumbnails at the top of this page. Sorry to hear that you have emotional battles to contend with at the moment, Treeve, if it isn t too personal to mention - and I mean it sincerely!
