The centre pages of 'Gay Parade' a series of sketches and music performed in the Pavilion Theatre in 1954, which now houses the gaming machines on the Prom today. I remember the last production there starring comedian Arthur English. I accidentally knocked over a bottle while he gave a speech deploring its closure as a theatre and, to my embarrassment as a young lad, he joked, 'They're demolishing it already!'
