My book tells me there is no possibility of confusion with other species but this one caused me real problems. If I had held it in my hand, I should have noticed that its stem is quadrangular. The plants likes banks near stagnant water, ditches, wet meadows, moorland and yet a firm, wet soil, rich in nitrogen etc
