She did a lot better than everyone thought; having dismissed her as unsuitable for local ferry and the seas here; she crossed the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal and saw years of service in the Pacific, under various guises, she was finally lost through no reason of her own, simply by the inablity to control the ship and the subsequent neglect. 26 years in what can be and was the most inhospitable of seas possible. Gone but not forgotten.
