in this case a separate thin sponge had to be baked, and I cut it down and shaped it, then coated it with spooned icing, and shaped it down, marked it all out, with indents and lines, then painted with edible dye; the only space for candles was around the edge; as you might guess, the man was a fishing fanatic.
