Ricardo's Pizza

After many, many year the old dairy re-opens this week end as Ricardo's Pizza shop. The owners invited us in for a quick peek.
Yes indeed ... I can remember this as The Granary, Piano Paradise, Pine Factory, a Radio Repair Shop, a Grocers ... but not a dairy. When was that?

Of course, Joslins - I bought a dehumidifier there; one of the best things I ever bought; saved wall decorations and curtains no end. That was in the very early days, when I was spending much of my time in the office calculating dew point in wall and roof construction, as well as humidity levels. The early days of the sparkling new thermal regulations it took no account of condensation, with disastrous results, I ended up assisting the BRS with designing vapour barriers. Regulations got changed very quickly as to the position of the vapour barrier in relation to the insulation material. One new bungalow ended up with water pouring out of the roof space, into buckets all over the living room. Fun days.

This was a sweet shop in the early 70's. I used to walk there every day from Tolver Place as a nipper.
