Ricky Barnes

Ricky was always a popular performer and a good singer particularly in the Elvis/Jerry Lee Lewis/Bill Haley/Cliff mould. He would often emerge in the second set in a blonde wig and gold lamé suit.
These pictures are MAGIC, brings back memories of long nights a dance halls with a wholelottashakingoinon; Ricky and The layabouts .. Great; I tagged along with the Sabres, myself. Poor Big Mac, no longer with us. My greatest memory has to be the night at the concert of the Staggerlees (with their spoof alter egos, Johnny and the Hayseeds). Remember Fatty Smith with his brand new Epophone guitar, first white one in the area. What an All Star time !!! Everyone was doing the Shadows Walk!! Fun nights....

Personally, I remember all those pretty young Swedish girls that used to decorate the Jubilee Pool and who taught me a variation on the Conga at the Wints!
