Built in 1979 by the Yorkshire Dry Dock Company – Yard Nr 257; 498 grt; named WIB, Renamed Breydon Enterprise 1987; Engines Holland Roe; built as a dry cargo coaster. 1996 purchased by T. and S. Rix of Hull, and converted to a coastal bunkering tanker; renamed Rix Harrier. Re-engined two Caterpillar 1036 ; each 480 shp; 9 knots. Now 572 grt; 354 nrt; 1009 dwt. 45m x 10m. Services other ships, as well as collecting island oil waste.

Something that I discovered when I set forth on my voyage of research about the ships and the town, was that we are not just a dot on a map in some far flung block of granite. We have connections all over the world ... literally.
