The pulpit where no doubt Reverend Bernard Walke must have delivered his sermons half a century ago. He was a controversial vicar and faced revolts and sabotage from local C of E folk who objected to his seeming papist/Catholic leanings. I would recommend the book he wrote called '20 Years at St Hilary' for both its charm and its revelations.
